| | PEOPLE ARE TALKING ABOUT | To join the conversation, become a member of the Oak Bay Local Facebook group | Ballet lessons for older dancers | An Oak Bay local reached out to the community wondering whether anyone would be interested in beginner ballet lessons if they are 55 or older. Kathy Lang from SEDA Dance recently added an SAOL ballet class on Tuesday mornings, which would suit those who might have done ballet long ago and want to get back into it in a stress-free setting, or for those who want to add a new hobby to their lives. | The class will be in the community hall of St. Barnabas on Begbie Street. | |

| | | Dangerous driving | One Oak Bay local called out a dangerous driver who nearly hit two pedestrians while they were crossing the road on Richmond Avenue this week. While the original poster was clearly shaken after the incident, others voiced their frustration in ways that quickly turned combative. Others chimed in that theyβve made mistakes while driving when they havenβt noticed pedestrians until they were already crossing, with one example being that the pedestrian was coming onto the crosswalk from behind a parked car. Others noted seeing area pre-schoolers cross the street while walking with their arms out, indicating that they were wanting to cross, and how some adults could learn from them by indicating that they are crossing the road before they do so. What do you think? Do drivers in Oak Bay need to drive with extra care? | |
