| | | Fungal finds in East Oak Bay | Locals have been noticing some striking fungal finds in the woods of East Oak Bay, and many were wondering if they were poisonous. While no one has been able to definitively identify them, based on the grainy video footage some have suggested they could be fly agaric, which are definitely poisonous, and are an iconic "fairy" mushroom π. Others suggested they could possibly be amanita muscaria or potentially shrimp Russula. Regardless, locals should use caution if they come across them as they could be dangerous, particularly for little ones and pets. | Have you come across these mushrooms while out and about in Oak Bay? Some say they remind them of the iconic mushrooms as seen in Mario Bros. Regardless of what they are, they should under no circumstance be consumed unless they are positively identified as being non-toxic. | | |
